Our Honeymoon at Jade Mountain

It's pretty safe to say that I've missed you.  A week long escape with the new hubs in St. Lucia was amazing, but it's nice to get back into a daily routine.  We took over 800 photos, so I've decided to break down our honeymoon photos into two blog posts.  We stayed at two different resorts during the week, so this post will feature our stay at Jade Mountain.

After two flights and almost a two hour taxi ride, we arrived at Jade Mountain.  Before we even exited the car that escorted us from the airport to the resort, we were greeted  by their staff with cold eucalyptus cloths to refresh our faces and hands.  The service was unreal, right from the very start.

As we approached our room, or our "sanctuary" as they call it, we were handed seriously amazing sugar cane drinks.  Then we continued to our very own skyway.

The skyway is the bridge that lead only to our room. There was no check-in location or lobby... our butler (yes, we had a private butler - all rooms do) took us right to our room and explained further details of our stay.

When we walked into the room, our jaws dropped.

Wouldn't yours?  I'm still in awe of the Pitons.

This is an unedited photo of the view from our room.  The colors look especially vibrant in this photo for some reason, but it really was even more beautiful in person.  There is no fourth wall, just open air.

Our room had a deep infinity pool in it - we had a lot of fun with that.

The housekeeping staff turned down our bed every evening and lit candles throughout the room.

The food was AMAZING.  The award-winning chef prepares only organic foods.  I've never eaten such consistently tasty food in my life - from the daily in-room breakfast with freshly pressed juices, to the oceanside lunches, to the surprise bento box in our mini fridge that included a variety of different treats every day, and of course, to the candlelit dinners.

The beach area was shared with Jade Mountain's sister resort, Anse Chastenet.  The sand has a lot of black in it due to volcanic ash, so it made the beach that much hotter.  Beautiful, but hot! Not to worry because we kept cool with fruity concoctions at the beachside restaurant.

Jade Mountain was very quiet.  There are no TVs, no alarm clocks, no music in the background at dinner, and no lounge or bar area.  It's a great place to unplug and unwind.  We loved the drastic change from the hustle and bustle we were used to leading up to the wedding.

The pampering we experienced is unmatched. Every time we walked out of the room, the staff would greet me by my newly married name, which was so nice to hear. Our butlers were out of this world and we were given a special phone to call them at any time, for any reason.

Here are some more photos...

Jade Mountain, you will be extremely hard to beat in any future vacation.

  7. I can't believe how beautiful this is! I got engaged recently, and we are thinking about st. lucia for our honeymoon - I can't wait to see where you stayed next. I had a friend that stayed the full week at Jade Mountain and I know that they loved it.... I just wonder if a full week would be too quiet? And I agree - where is that top from!? Gorgeous.

You were a gorgeous bride and the honeymoon looked blissful. My husband and I went to St. Lucia on our honeymoon and we loved it too, 7 years ago. Enjoy this time as newlyweds and I look forward to seeing what your future holds.

It's so hard to come back from the honeymoon. I did not want to leave Hawaii, but settling back into normalcy and your day-to-day life as a married couple is also pretty awesome. Enjoy marriage, it's so wonderful!!

Were the bugs / mosquitos bad with the 4th "wall" being wide open? I've always wondered about that.
