jump street

Brandon and I saw 22 Jump Street last night (hilarious!!), so I don't know... the title for this jumpsuit outfit post just works for me.
This jumpsuit is unlike anything else in my closet. I love rompers, but this takes the concept of a "one-piece" to a whole new level. I know jumpsuits aren't for everyone, but when I see a woman rocking one, all I see is confidence and what could be better than that? Of course, after I put this one on, it just begged for my new favorite red lip

jumpsuit: Black Halo

heels: Kate Spade (also available here!)
necklace: J. Crew Factory

sales worth shopping

J. Crew is offering 30% off select items with code HISUMMER. This drapey tank is all kinds of perfection. I saw it in store and am wondering why I didn't buy it? The white is pretty sheer, but the blue is so gorgeous. This sweater reminds me so much of the swing sweater that was everywhere last year. I love a lightweight sweater in a light color because it can be worn all year long. Throw it on with a pair of jorts (yes I said it - jorts) for an effortless look. This throw-on-and-go sundress is perfect for all sorts of summer occasions. And how stunning is this necklace? I know. Oh, and the Downing Tote is included in the sale, as well. Looks almost identical to the ever-so-popular Transport Tote from Madewell. Here are a few more picks from the 30% off sale.

Shopbop is offering an extra 25% off sale items with code 25MORE (sale ends tonight!). Where to start, where to start? Ok, it's hard to think about booties when it's 100 degrees outside (at least it is in Beaufort!), but these Tory Burch Booties are pretty awesome. Great time to stock up for fall. These shorts are definite staples - and $80 off! These sandals are where it's at. My love for flare jeans will never go away and these are on point. This is such a sweet little dress. Oh yes, and the perfect maxi dress is on sale, too.

what's in my travel makeup bag?

Ever wonder what beauty items people take with them when they travel? I do, I do! I'm curious by nature and absolutely love to find out what people keep in their travel beauty bags (like creepily obsessed). So here's to hoping you enjoy it too, because that's what I'm bringing to the table today.

Buxom Divine Goddess Luminizer // Great multi-purpose product to bring along. Can be used as a face highlight or mixed with your body moisturizer for an all over glow.
Dior Forever Foundation (Linen) // Just my favorite stay-put, but looks like skin, foundation. Period.
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (Light-Medium) // Covers under eye circles like nobody's business.
NYX HD Translucent Powder // Locks everything in place and absorbs oil without drying.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer // Long time favorite. Matte bronzer - great for contouring!
Nars Orgasm Blush (mine is small because it is a deluxe sample) // Tied for my favorite summer blush.
Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot // Nothing else to say other than it's b-e-yoooo-tiful on warm toned skin.

MAC Custom Eyeshadow Palette Colors (starting at upper left and moving clockwise):
Blanc TypeOmegaEspressoWoodwinked

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base // Keeps your eyeshadow from creasing like nothing else I've ever tried.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner // Gotta have my cat eye... even on vaca.
Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara // The.Best.Ever. Worth all thirty bones (yikes!)
Anastasia Brow Wiz (Taupe) // For filling in my eyebrows like a champ...
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel // ...and then holding them in place literally all day long.
Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Liaison // This is the most beautiful lipstick color I've ever owned. (Bold statement, huh?)
Chanel Glossimer in Amour // Because it's pretty and sometimes that's all you need.

dinner overhaul

Lately, I've had this recurring realization over and over again.

I'm a terrible eater. Like, really bad. As in... pizza twice a week, chicken tenders and french fries, junk food galore, and ranch-dipped everything. It's not good.

I've been on healthy eating kicks before and I know I can do it again. When you make it a habit, you learn to crave good-for-you foods and that's what I'm striving for here. Not to rain on Brandon's parade, but he sometimes makes it difficult for me to eat foods that are more healthy. Mushrooms, onions, peppers, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, etc. ...I love these things. Brandon does not. See? Enter pizza because sometimes I just don't know what else to cook that he will like! (Although I have been known to sneak things like onions into our meals if I chop them fine enough. Got to be sneaky.) But now I've gotten into the habit of making poor choices and it's time to quit.

My overall goals for eating more clean are to cut out processed foods (as best as possible), greatly reduce carb consumption, and decrease sugar intake. Eventually, I'd like to drastically cut my dairy consumption, but let's not get crazy.

I've been on a huge hunt for healthy recipes that normal people can make. You know what I mean. I am interested in recipes where I can pronounce everything on the ingredient list and don't need two hours and a specialty grocery store in order to make the meal.

Here are some pretty great recipes I've found that are worth sharing. These aren't crazy strict healthy recipes, but ones that will be great baby steps for us.
Malt Vinegar Oven Fries - Because I'm a french fry fanatic.
Vegan Creamed Kale
Sweet and Spicy Asian Glazed Grilled Drumsticks
Zucchini Tots - These look amazing and seem pretty simple to make.
Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps
Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps - Because anything that combines the crock pot and buffalo sauce is a winner in my book.
Healthy Peanut Butter Freezer Cookies - Have I ever expressed my love for peanut butter to you before?
Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower Bites - Once again... Buffalo Sauce, you win.
Garlic Mushroom Quinoa - Garlic and mushrooms sound heavenly together.
Baked Parmesan Zucchini - I think I bookmarked this one because it looks so pretty.
Healthy Chicken Alfredo Pita Pizzas - YES.
Honey Salmon
Whole Wheat Greek Yogurt Pancakes - When reading this title, all I see is pancakes.
Pecan Crusted Trout - I think you could probably use this topping on any fish.
Got to give major kudos to this blog, this blog, and this one, too (where I stole the feature image!) Got any good recipes to share? Help a sister out!

sam edelman and j. crew

I have an instagram account set up especially for my blog sale items, but I wanted to mention a couple new items on here. Email me at stylemeswanky@gmail.com if interested! I will send you a paypal invoice right away.

I've never worn these stunning heels! Size 8.5 and runs true to size. I paid $130 and am asking $90 (plus $10 to ship).

I've barely used this bag. It's been great to pick up on spring/summer days when I want a "lighter" look, but it's just time to let it go to another proud owner. Paid $198, asking $100 (plus $10 to ship).

Email me at stylemeswanky@gmail.com if interested. Also, be sure to check out my other blog sale items on Instagram at @stylemeswanky_closet!

Summer Smokey Eye Tutorial

I was asked to do a smokey eye tutorial that is perfect for summer nights. Well, here it is! I am still learning this whole youtube video thing. It's quite a process getting videos edited and uploaded properly, so just bear with me. Even though I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to video production, I still think these are fun! Any other requests?

Products mentioned:

Face products //
Revlon Skin Lights (400 Bronze Light)

Eye products //
Milani Shadow Eyez (champagne toast)
MAC Eyeshadow (Blanc Type and Woodwinked)

Lip products //
Revlon Lip Butter (strawberry shortcake)

You can purchase my makeup brushes from Nordstrom (except for the Sonia Kashuk pencil brush - that's from Target!).

rompin' around

romper: Yumi Kim (this exact print is sold out, but here are similar ones!)
wedges: Jessica Simpson (similar here and here)
necklaces: Layered and Long

This weekend was top notch. Got some great family time in, plenty of time to relax, and fun with friends. I'm not going to tell you how quickly I watched season four of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix (because that would be embarrassing), but I finished it on Friday night. I had always avoided PLL because I thought it was aimed for a younger person, but geeeeez I became obsessed immediately! I love a good mystery. Anyway, back to this weekend. Here are some iphone snaps.

Brandon and I are a little cinnamon roll obsessed. It's a Saturday tradition and potentially could be a problem.

Added to my gallery wall.

Dinner at San Miguels. (Highly recommend if you're visiting Hilton Head!) Best skinny margarita in all the land.

Cruised from Beaufort to Edisto by boat. Great trip, even though we got caught in a storm on the way back.
My suit is Mara Hoffman, available here and here. Although the same print isn't available, there are plenty of other MH suits on sale here and here!

Hope y'all had a great Father's Day weekend!

splurge vs. save

I'm entirely too obsessed with these Valentino Rockstud sandals, but the price is a real kicker. These ASH Oasis sandals are a fraction of the price and being that they are real leather, they are a pretty amazing dupe for the real deal. I love that they've got the same style, but they aren't trying to be an exact duplicate. That's a whole lot to love in one little shoe.

what i wore: a different kind of pant

These Joie Mariner Crops will take you right through fall. They're incredibly comfortable - basically like socially acceptable pajamas. I paired them with my newest favorite thing, this Saks white tee. So effortless and on sale for $20. But be warned, they run small and shrink something terrible - I am wearing a size large (after washing/drying twice).
If you saw this post on instagram yesterday, you may be wondering what's in the boxes. Well, it's these gorgeous necklaces from Layered and Long! Their jewelry is beautifully hand-crafted and 14k gold filled. I'm obsessed. By the way, you can save 10% in their shop with the code STYLEMESWANKY.
Of course I finished off the look with my trusty Philip Lim Pashli bag and the BCBG wedges I wear with literally everything. They're very old, but these ...ohh these. They are high on my lust list and fairly similar in style to the ones I'm wearing. That's the thing about shoes. Buy a good pair and they'll last you.
Oh yes. The bracelets are Harper Designs, Bourbon & Boweties, and that beaded one? That's the Nordstrom Audrey bracelet.

Happy weekend, my friends.

good stuff

Over the weekend, I had a nice little visit with my friend, Target. You know how you go in there for one thing (or for nothing at all, let's be serious) and walk out with a buggy full of things you suddenly need. Target's the best for that. They've got good stuff all around right now and here are the highlights from my trip.

A candle that smells exactly like my absolute favorite, NEST Bamboo. Except, this one is a tiiiny fraction of the price. It's my new best friend.

This palm leaf bikini is perfection.

You know the Russell + Hazel Acrylic File Boxthat everyone is crazy about? It's beautiful, but seeing as how I don't even have files to put in a file box, I just can't justify $75. Enter this fine specimen...yeah, it was $7.99. (I can't find a link, but it's with all the other desktop organizers in the store.)

Gold push pins and gold scissors. Yes and yes.

...and perhaps my favorite - these comfy pajamas. The best part is that they are super lightweight, so they aren't a pain to wear in the summertime. Oh, and the set is on sale for $21!

Good stuff, right? Oh, also - this waffle weave robe is pretty incredible, especially for the price (what a great bridesmaids gift idea!) And this workout pullover in grey came home with me. It rivals Lululemon for sure.

Target ...oh you.
