A Look Inside Lauren Conrad's Beverly Hills Penthouse

Oh, to live the life of LC. No really, I would totally love to live her life for at least one teeny day. She's incredibly business savvy, beautiful, seems to have a great balance between love, friends, and work, and not to mention, she's the owner of an amazeballs penthouse in Beverly Hills.

I spotted this peek inside her home on InStyle and I loved the images so much that I just had to share them on here. In fact, I went back and looked at them (and watched the coordinating video) like five times.

So I don't know about you, but I was completely taken by the orange tufted sofa, the giant exposed brick wall, and her beautiful kitchen. Oh gosh, and that closet.

weekend | mixed bag

Hello, loves! Happy Monday. We went to Clemson this past weekend for the homecoming game. I really don't have any orange in my closet except this top from J. Crew. I wore it with shorts to the first home game at the beginning of September, but changed the look by pairing it with these jeans and these booties

Oh, and just so you know, J. Crew is offering 25% off full price items with code STYLETREAT, as well as an extra 30% off final sale styles.

One of our friends was celebrating his 27th birthday at their tailgate. They all brought 90s themed things. Cheese Balls (as in the crunchy kind, not the kind you spread on crackers!), 90s music, and lots of other treats including Surge. Please tell me y'all remember this drink. It was a blast from the past! Apparently, they have brought it back and it's now available (if you can catch it quickly!) on Amazon.

My mom was so sweet to get a breakfast nook table for us that I've had my eye on. It's an antique oak table that has been refinished with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to play into its distressed look. Charleston peeps, it was done by Handpainted Furniture by Liz. She's amazingly talented at spotting interesting, high quality pieces and refinishing them in awesome ways. She will do commission work, too.

I absolutely love this table. I'm thinking about pairing bamboo Chippendale chairs with it. Thoughts? Also need to find a great rug for underneath. Aaaand still need a dining room table. I'm not in any rush, though. The first order of business is still to paint the walls before we do anything else. We hope to tackle that later this week and weekend.

Don't forget that the Ann Taylor 50% off entire purchase sale ends tonight at midnight! If you missed it, I listed my top picks from the site on Friday. I scooped up this jacket and am hoping it works out.

In other news, Winston is loving the new house. He gets to play outside while I have my morning coffee. He' so funny how he just freezes when I take a photo. It's like it's his model pose.

I did take him to Clemson with me this weekend. He's a champ at what ended up being a 4.5 hr car ride. I can't help but wonder what people think as they see us driving down the road.... "That girl has a CAT on her lap!?" Oh well, he's toteable and I'm glad.

ann taylor 50% off entire purchase | my picks

Hold the phone. Ann Taylor is having a 50% off your entire purchase sale and, naturally, I've gathered my favorites. AT has been killing it this season—I've already accumulated a few pieces into my fall/winter wardrobe, like this draped coat and this silk top. Use code FASHION50 today through Monday, October 27th to save. But I'd hurry if I were you...things are selling out online quick!

My favorites are below!

lovely listing no. 2

Since you all seemed to enjoy the first installment of "lovely listing," I'm back with another! I can't get over this house, y'all. Even though these photos are of a vacant house, it gives me such a feeling of a warm, cozy home. I'm picturing myself squeezing fresh lemonade on those beautiful butcher block counters, then enjoying an ice cold glass while in a rocking chair on the front porch that overlooks amazing live oak trees. Are you with me?

This home is just outside of Charleston in a little town called McClellanville. You know, that's the kind of place where time moves a little slower and you can still see lightening bugs. It's more the pace of where I grew up, so I'm naturally drawn to it.

Built in 1904 by a local carpenter, this home has all the charm you would expect in an older Victorian home, but it's been renovated to today's modern standards. It's nestled in the coastal village of McClellanville's Historic District and just like the photos show, it's framed by pretty amazing live oak trees.

Who wants to move in with me? Even though we just moved last week, I could maybe go for one more go at it!

(Ehh. On second thought. Maybe not.)
The charm is literally overflowing.
Those ceilings!
Hello, beautiful heart pine floors.

So can you picture yourself on that porch, too? Should we have cookies to snack on ...or wine and cheese?

The nitty gritty: This home is 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 2404 sq. ft, on .34 acre, listed at $499,000, and is located at 704 Pinckney St., McClellanville, SC.

Charleston Pillow Styling with Lulu & Georgia

In celebration of our move back to the Holy City, I was asked by Lulu & Georgia to style the prettiest Charleston pillow you ever did see. On second thought, I'm not sure if you've seen any other Charleston pillows. As you can imagine, I gladly accepted the style challenge, especially since that means you all get a 20% discount off of your area's pillow (just use code HOMEISWHERETHEARTIS20).

L&G just recently launched this new line of region, state, city, and international pillows. You should totally check them out because there's probably one on there representing your home...and what a fun way to show pride for where you live. Not only are the pillows hand embroidered with special things about each area, but they're organic cotton and comfy—oh, are they comfy.

Here's how I styled my pillow (when we were still in our old house!).

maybelline "the mattes" | beauty

When I think of fall, I think of changing leaves, cozy scarves, and bold, matte lips. I recently came across a new lipstick line by Maybelline called, "The Mattes" and I just had to swatch them for you to see.

I wore a couple of these this past weekend and fell in love. They are incredibly pigmented, stay in place, and remain buttery at the same time. The matte finish is on trend right now and really set off a perfect fall look. The lasting power is impressive, too! My favorites are a mix between #4 and mostly #5.

1. Nude Embrace (650)  2. Daringly Nude (655)  3. Ravishing Rose (670)  4. Lust for Blush (665)  5. Touch of Spice (660)  6. Faint for Fuschia (675)  7. Mesmerizing Magenta (670)  8. Siren in Scarlet (690)  9. Divine Wine (695)

Maybelline sent me these products to review if I so decided, but I received no payment in return for this post!

weekend (all moved in!)

Hello! We are officially Charleston residents (again). After closing, Brandon and I celebrated the only way we knew how...
...with gigantic chicken sandwiches, of course.
Boxcar Betty's is a new(ish) restaurant in Charleston that has dominated the chicken sandwich. I got the Boxcar, which has spicy mayo, peach coleslaw, housemade pickles, and pimento cheese. Brandon got the Chicken & "Not So Waffle," and I can promise you... I will get it next time.
The next day, we woke up after...oh, a good three hours of sleep and moved from Beaufort back to Charleston. Surprisingly, we fit most of our things in that one truck. Probably helps that I sold our living room and dining room furniture before we moved. #timetoshop

My mom came up on Friday to help unpack while Brandon worked. But naturally, we ended up shopping and getting mani/pedis instead. Oh, and thanks, Mom, for the mum and pumpkin!

We went to a gigantic furniture consignment shop in Mount Pleasant called Mount Pleasant Mall. It has over 25,000 square feet of antiques, new & pre-owned furniture, vintage items, etc.
My favorite booths are the ones where designers refurbish old furniture into practically new pieces. This booth had my heart. I love the two moorish mirrors. I seriously almost scooped them up and am kind of regretting not doing so now. But I have bigger things to think about now, like living room furniture, a dining room table/chairs, and a kitchen table. Gives me anxiety thinking about all the decisions that need to be made.

On Friday night, we celebrated the wedding of one of my very best friends. The weather couldn't have been prettier and the bride couldn't have been more stunning.
I am totally not a food photographer. In fact, this might look disgusting or it might look delicious. I haven't decided yet. But we went to Triangle Char & Bar on Saturday to watch the Clemson game and Brandon got "The Nap." Yes, that's two bacon grilled cheeses sandwiched around a cheeseburger. There's a first for everything. #ididnoteatthat

On Sunday, we unpacked some more and grabbed dinner with Brandon's parents. It's still too warm for me to hang up the white jeans. Sorry, Emily Post. I wore this ASOS blouse, these Citizens of Humanity jeans (50% off!), a Theodosia necklace and earrings, and booties from Target last year. I think the white jeans can totally move into fall when paired with darker pieces and booties.
By the way, our gray paint samples have been purchased! I will share our decision process with you on the blog this week.
