what i wore: casual chic for the office

It's pretty nice when you can combine a comfortable outfit with one that's office-ready. These pants fit the bill perfectly, plus they are 25% off right now with code SHOPNOW. They may resemble comfy lounge pants, but when you see the material up close, you immediately notice the beautiful wool material that makes it dressy enough for the office.

The necklace I'm wearing is a recent purchase from Shopbop. It's 14kt gold plated and feels super luxurious, but is less than $100. It's a great staple that I know I will wear a lot—it's so simple and could be thrown on with just about anything.

Gosh, it was so windy.... there was no helping this hair. But this top—I really love it. Sort of digressing a bit, but there's something I've realized about myself... or my shopping habits, at least. I am such a big proponent of buying fewer, better things, which normally means investing in great basics. But at the end of the day, I just don't have as much fun buying basics as I do fun, unique things. This is something I'm trying to change about my buying habits. My closet doesn't need as many wear-a-few-times kind of pieces, but it's craving things that I can interchange with so many other pieces and dress up or down.

Which brings me back to this top. It's exactly what I needed in my closet, and similar to other classic pieces I'm currently eyeing as well. A great basic like this could be worn with so much. The quality of the brushed, fine knit is amazing and it feels so nice. I've worn this top in so many different ways within the past few weeks. Comes in other colors, too!

These are the shoes I mentioned in last Friday's weekly roundup. They are more comfortable than similar ones I own by Stuart Weitzman (that are, oh, 10 times the price). No one will ever guess these heels were less than $40. I'm going to be living in them this summer.

outfit details: top (I'm wearing a small), pants (25% off! I'm in size 2), heels (true to size), necklace, sunglasses, bag, ring
bracelets // vahan: here, here and david yurman: here, here, and similar

on my face: cc cream (light-medium),  lipstick (faint for fuscia)
