weekend + outfits + watson's baptism

Good morning! Sort of thinking about unpacking everything from the weekend, but had to stop and share some views of our weekend. We spent it in Beaufort because we had Watson's baptism there yesterday. Made for some extra time to get out on the river and even enjoy a date night downtown!

After we got the baby down for bed on Saturday, we put Brandon's parents on baby monitor duty so we could go out for a couple drinks downtown. We went to our favorites—Saltus and Old Bull Tavern

I wore this top (it's only $42) with old boyfriend jeans (similar here and here) and old shoes (similar herehere, and here). I'm telling you, if you're looking for an off the shoulder top, this is where to find it.

On Sunday, we had Watson baptized by Monsignor Cellini. He was the priest at the church and catholic school I went to as a child and is really special to my family. He actually married Brandon and me, too!

The ceremony was in St. Peter's Historic Church downtown in Beaufort. It was intimate and really, really special. Brandon and I are so very proud to be Watson's parents.

I wore this Ramy Brook Sadie Dress and it's pretty much the most comfortable, forgiving dress on the planet. Brandon said some sheets in the same material would be nice. This dress is really similar - same designer, same color, just a different style. I'm wearing these Stuart Weitzman Nudistsong Heels, also available here.

Watson wore the same christening gown that Brandon wore when he was the same age.

I monogrammed his initials above Brandon's inside the gown. And I also embroidered this little outfit for Watson to wear at dinner afterwards. I posted this on snapchat/instagram stories and had a ton of people asking for tips on the machine I use. I guess I'm going to have to do some sort of video to tell y'all what I think about it and how I load in my monograms, etc. I'll be thinking about the best way to do this!

Oh, just a few more days left of the Beautycounter giveaway!

  4. What a fun weekend!! I actually bought the same embroidery machine that you got after you got it and have been enjoying it! I feel like every time I do a bigger monogram, I always run into some kind of trouble so I don't know if it's full operator error or not lol I'd love to see a video about how you like yours, how monogramming is going for you and if you've run into any problems. Happy baptism to Watson!

  6. So sweet! For all the fashionistas on a budget, I got the knockoff version of these sandals from Payless. Just as cute for a lot fewer dollars.
