You know those funny memories you have sometimes? Things that have no real importance, but you can remember it happening just perfectly? There's one memory I so vividly have from when I was a freshman in high school. A new kid in the senior class said to me, "When will you graduate?" It was only 2003 then. I answered, "2007" and he said "Man! That's sooo far away." I remember feeling the same way, but here we are in 2017. A year I thought was so far away is now a distant memory. I recall this silly conversation every single year as another one passes. I just don't know how it all happens so fast.
I think that may have been a pointless story, but wow! It is 2017. Happy New Year, by the way!
I took a little unannounced time off throughout the holidays to soak it all up and enjoy a bit of a breather. The end of 2016 was pretty hard on my family and I think having a little time off to enjoy the fresh start of a promising new year was just what I needed.
Christmas was really special for us this year with Watson. It's been a long time since I've felt the magic of the season so much and it was really exciting. I know it's going to get better and better every year as our traditions grow and his imagination and spirit do, too. This ornament is by Coton Colors. They have all sorts. We have a "fun tree" in our play room that has a growing collection of these ornaments from special moments in our life.
W loved riding the golf cart in my parents' neighborhood. Except I had a major mom fail and cut him out of this picture.
A few pieces I'm eyeing at Celadon.
Santa brought me some Uggs. I had them back in college and felt like my feet needed some ugly comfort again!! Not ashamed. They feel amazing and are the best to throw on with yoga pants. I seriously love them. I picked up this scarf just recently from Urban Nirvana spa. I love how chunky it is!
Watson kisses you by putting his mouth on your nose. It's a slobbery mess and it melts my heart.
No Sunday scaries here at Hometeam BBQ. But for real, their queso though.
Reading The Magnolia Story slowly on purpose because it's so good that I don't want it to end.
Bath time with this cutie pie.
We took little one to Charles Towne Fermentory. It just opened up in our hood, so we walked up there one afternoon.
NYE with these precious friends of mine and our hubbies. We just hung out at the house with pizza, champagne, and Clemson football. And Mariah Carey on DVR—rewound multiple times. What a tough moment! I felt bad for her.
Happy New Year! Hope you all had Merry Christmases and holidays, too. Excited for things to come in 2017! xo
