I thought that since I mention Brandon a good bit in my blog, I might dedicate a post to the boyfriend himself!
We caught each other’s eye in 2003.
I don’t know why I caught his, because I had braces, wore no makeup, and didn’t know Louis Vuitton from Target (and it showed in my outfits!).
…but we were young little things, and we were each other’s first love.
Here’s the story in a very small nutshell:
Brandon and I went to a small, private school that has grades K4-12.
Brandon is a couple years older than me.
When he graduated from our school, he gave up his goal of going to Clemson to pursue an engineering degree to go to a school an hour and half from home.
That way, he could come home every weekend to see me (and, of course, his family).
…and he did.
Brandon came home each weekend and was able to greet me as I walked out of my last class each Friday.
The plan was that he would transfer to Clemson two years later, at the same time that I would start my freshman year there.
…but when the time for that came, I wasn’t a very good girlfriend and decided to go to a school with my best friends instead of to Clemson with Brandon.
Brandon fulfilled his side of our plan.
The four hour distance between us began to take a toll on our relationship.
Not only that, but we knew it would be for our own good to date around a little.
You know, to make sure that we truly were meant for one another, and not high school sweethearts just trying to hold on to something that wasn’t supposed to be.
So we broke up for a few months during the Spring of 2008.
In May, we were back together.
Then we broke up once more in the Spring of 2009.
Later on that summer, with no surprise to us, we decided we couldn’t stand not being with one another.
During those two Springs, we each dated other people but couldn’t find the same chemistry with anyone else.
So when we “kissed & made up” in August of 2009, we held on and and decided to not let go anymore!
Brandon is a sweetheart.
He is so caring and receives joy from doing things for others.
He has a great family and enjoys being with them as much as possible (as do I!).
I’m so lucky to have a Christian, handsome and loving boyfriend!
Sweet bloggers, meet Brandon:
Now I’ll take y’all through the years!
