So, did you catch our announcement on Instagram yesterday? 

We couldn’t be more thrilled to share this news with you! I am 12 weeks along and my due date is April 4th! Although I’ve been enjoying every moment of this journey so far and thankful to God for this incredible blessing, I’ve got to admit that I am so ready for this first trimester to be behind me. I found out I was pregnant very early on and it was almost as if my symptoms kicked in the very next day. I got so tired immediately—like could not even function kind of tired! I can’t express how thankful I have been for a job that allows me to be home because I’ve fully taken advantage of long naps basically every day. I have got to hand it to all of you mamas who have worked full time jobs during pregnancy—and those who have other babies to take care of at home while pregnant! As of the past week or so, I’ve finally felt a little energy coming back, which has been so nice. I’m hoping to start working out again because I’ve honestly probably been to the gym about 5 times this trimester. Just been too tired and weak feeling, sadly. I really want to start prenatal yoga! Other than the exhaustion, I’ve been feeling pretty normal other than terrible headaches once or twice a week (probably a mix caffeine withdrawal and hormones—I used to get migraines during my puberty years and this feels so similar). I thankfully haven’t experienced morning sickness, other than a little mild nausea here and there.

Cravings and aversions? I’ve absolutely detested the taste of coffee in the mornings! An afternoon coffee shop treat is okay from time to time (especially iced ones!), but in the mornings, I just want ice cold water or orange juice—nothing hot. I’m hoping this changes because I miss the comforts of a warm cup of coffee in the mornings. I’ve also cringed at the thought of a salad up until this past week when I started wanting salads like something crazy. As for other cravings, I want fruit! Pineapples, grapes, oranges… yum, I cannot get enough. Up until last week, I also wanted all the junk food, but I think I ate too many Trader Joe’s white cheddar cheese puffs because now the thought of snacking on chips seems gross to me. Now I want salads and cheeseburgers! As you can see, my cravings/aversions have changed a bit since the beginning of my first trimester. But no odd cravings yet! I’ve also lost a little bit of my major sweet tooth. (Just a little bit.)

    So so so so excited for you two!!! Parenthood is the absolute best thing. You're going to love it!!! Enjoy pregnancy as much as you can now — I felt like I had been pregnant FOREVER up until my little one was born but now looking back it all went so quickly! Hope you start feeling more energetic again soon — amen about flexible jobs and naptimes!

    Whatever you do, don't try the Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups (unless you already have!) They're seriously addictive and I'm not even pregnant 😉 haha. Congrats again!

    Congratulations! I too craved salad my entire pregnancy! I had to have a huge salad and a huge bowl of soup everyday. 🙂 Enjoy this wild but blessed journey!

    Congratulations to you both! I am expecting as well but just a little bit ahead of you – I am 17 and a half weeks now. I also go back and forth between craving salads and junk food! It's ok to take it easy in your first trimester. You can get back into a light workout routine now that your body has started to adjust. I know you will be great parents. So exciting for you both!

    Congratulations, child!! Isn't it exhausting but GREAT!? haha. I took got knocked off my hind end in the first trimester with being tired! I might have only made it to the gym a total of as many times as you have been as well in my first trimester- I promise around week 13-14 I was back to feeling like my old self again. Pregnancy hormones are a real thing. Darren told me the other night that he thinks they are something we preggers "say" as an excuse. I looked at him (in the most loving way possible of course) and told him that I would cut him for saying that hahahaha. You will be the cutest/best momma. You are SO blessed that you haven't been sick – I wasn't either. I just think – you don't feel good….or like yourself …AND go to bed by 7-8 pm every night!! haha. At 12 weeks I was ready to find out what we were having!! Won't be tooo much longer until you find out! If you all plan on doing that! YAY!! So excited to share this experience with you!!

    congratulations!!! this is such exciting news 🙂 enjoy your pregnancy (and hopefully the rest of it is a little easier). I did yoga and took long walks during my pregnancy and I loved it! i swear it helped during labor + recovery too (i really dont know but that's what im telling myself). and eat ALL the burgers! haha my husband was so happy that's what i craved during my pregnancy…we went to Poe's and Seasame a LOT. xo jillian – cornflake dreams

    Congratulations! I am currently 19 weeks pregnant with my first and your cravings during the first trimester sound just like mine! 2nd trimester is definitely so much better. Can't wait to follow along your journey!

    Congratulations!! I have a five week old and your cravings/aversions sound just like mine! Hot coffee did not sound good till after baby came though! I live in Charleston and did prenatal yoga at Holy Cow and loved it. I started at 12 weeks and went all the way till 36 weeks ( I delivered 3 weeks early!).
