Hello! I really haven’t been meaning to be such a stranger. I didn’t think a tiny little baby could keep me away from you guys this much, but that’s what has happened. Keep hoping I’m going to suddenly feel back to normal at any moment and have time to blog, but my schedule just hasn’t normalized yet. I’ve been working on a couple real estate deals and since our renovation is still going on, we’ve gone down to my parents house to stay a couple times for a few days each time, and then there’s just so much on the to-do list—somehow. We’ve been busy! So on the quiet days, I try to keep things really quiet and haven’t been pulling out my computer much. Just lots of snuggles. Like this.
Watson turned one month old last Sunday. I can’t decide if it has been the quickest month ever or the longest! The time has flown by in a blink of an eye, but it’s just amazing how much as changed in this month, so it feels way longer. I posted this on my personal facebook about our boy:
Our baby is one month old! He weighs 9lbs 3 oz and has grown too long for most of his newborn footie pajamas. He recognizes our voices and is able to pick up his head a few seconds at a time. (Which he has been determined to do since one day old!) He sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches through the night. Watson loves moving his hands all around and won’t dare let us swaddle them down by his sides. He has been out to eat almost every night as his crazy momma and daddy are still renovating their kitchen. He’s traveled somewhere every week since he was 4 days old and is so good at being out and about! He is determined and strong. Watson lights up our world and makes us feel blessed beyond measure!
We celebrated Mother’s Day with my family on Sunday. It was so special to spend my first Mother’s Day with my mom and the baby who made me a momma. We went to church out at Folly Beach and had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants (Rita’s) afterwards. It was the perfect day!
Cinco de Mayo with baby in tow. Love this Solly Wrap.
A trip to Beaufort…
Bought these shoes because of the pretty color.
Loving this bareMinerals Sheer Sun Serum Bronzer. It gives a sun-kissed glow like something serious. And that’s something I need terribly right now!! My body needs to see the sun. You can see a video of it in action here.
Sorta have to brag on my hubby for a quick sec. I almost didn’t, but the boy deserves it this time because his meaningful (and beautiful) push present is probably my most treasured item ever. It’s an anniversary band (the last one to the right) with an Aquamarine stone in it, which is Watson’s birthstone for his March 31st birthday. He gave it to me when Watson was 5 days old and I cried big alligator tears because he gave it to me in the same place where we got engaged—on the Beaufort Waterfront! I didn’t see the birthstone in it until Brandon spun it around (he had it hidden face down), and when I saw that… well, I just lost it.
Lots of meals out during the never ending renovation… I’m so ready to cook a home cooked meal—you have no idea! The verdict is in: The Shelter in Mount Pleasant has the best fish sandwich.
Watson was all like, “Yawn. Not as good as my milk!”
Fun bracelets I can’t seem to get enough of. Tassel Bracelets are White Elephant Designs (their shop has the CUTEST stuff!) and the gold cuff is Lisa Stewart. The gold ring is Julie Vos. Dress is Free People!
And lastly for today… I sold our dining room table on a whim.
It has not looked like this recently, I can assure you. I think I just got tired of seeing it covered in renovation dust. Polished that girl up and sold her on Craigslist! We really need something less formal and more durable since we have a baby now and our dining room is less formal in the house we’re in now. For the next one, I think I’m going to go with something like this table from Celadon. A table you can throw something on top of and not have to worry about a scratch!
