Admittedly, I get a lot of mail—packages if we’re being specific. I do 90% of my shopping online, if not more and I’m addicted to Amazon prime, so what can I say? When I worked at my full time desk job, the girls in my office used to pick on me because I would have all my packages sent there. The UPS driver said I got more mail than anyone he delivered to in Charleston proper. I would like to think he was exaggerating because come on, it’s not that much. But every day there’s usually something (or five somethings) on my doorstep. Some are things I buy and some are things that are sent to me to test out. I thought it might be fun to share some things every once in a while…. this is something different, at least!
Was so excited to get these Gucci Damo Driving Loafers in the mail, but a little bit too small. Bummer. I don’t really love logos & branding on my clothes, so the green and red ribbon bothered me a little bit anyway. Haven’t decided if I’m going to track down the next size up… but I do love a loafer!
I bought this SoftTiles play mat for Watson, but I have a feeling he isn’t going to stay on it long. He’s going to be crawling any day!
A box of goodies from Rachel Cruze. She has a new book called Love Your Life Not Theirs and I’m really excited to read it. I’m a sucker for those self help type of books. Rachel is the daughter of Dave Ramsey and educates people on how to handle money wisely and live on a plan, etc.
Will share more on these later, but it was honestly a JOY to get my Templeton Silver Pacifier Clips in the mail! This is a Charleston-based company that creates sterling and beaded pacifier clips that turn into a keepsake bracelet for mom after the baby outgrows the pacifier stage. Watson chews on his pacifier clips more than the actual paci…. well these have 85% less bacteria than your typical clips. I can’t wait to turn these clips into bracelets for me after he stops using them. He’s using this one below, which is personalized with his initials WSS. (About this picture: we just started giving him those little “Mum Mums” crackers and he loves them. He wants to put the whole thing in his mouth at once!) But these pacifier clips—they would make amazing gifts because it’s something for the baby and also for the momma. Don’t you know we all are always on the hunt for personalized, sweet jewelry to represent our babies anyway?
Some obsessions from First Aid Beauty. I am the biggest fan in the world of the Ultra Repair Cream. I use it all over my body and it’s honestly the best body cream I’ve ever used. It’s really light weight, frothy lotion, but moisturizes like a thick cream. A little goes a long way, too.
This one is so fun. Candy Shop Vintage is a local vintage and vintage-inspired jewelry shop in Charleston (you’ve got to see how cute it is—and you can shop it online, too!). The owner/designer, Deirdre Zahl, just came out with a new collection called the Cafe Collection. She was so sweet to send these adorable croissant earrings to me as a gift. I love how whimsical they are—seriously gorgeous, too!
Tried out the new BareMinerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation and I really love it. I wear it over my Beautycounter Tint Skin Foundation and it gives the perfect amount of coverage for me.
I’m so eager to try this Beauty Dust by Moon Juice. I saw how good the reviews were, so I had to try it. This is an edible powder that you add to your favorite drink to expand your beauty from within. Reviews all lean towards clear, glowing skin, shiny hair. Will report back!
Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum. I’ll be honest, I do feel like I’m cheating on my beloved Beautycounter Face Oil, but this one is pretty incredible so far, albeit here’s your warning, it’s a good bit pricier. My skin feels really refreshed and glowy since using this. I’m taking this from the website since it’s lingo I can’t re-word effectively: Vintner’s Daughter uniquely combines anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, skin firming phytoceramides, nourishing fatty-acids and powerful anti-oxidants to help restore skin balance and natural radiance. It’s a multi-correctional infusion of 22 of the world’s most active organic and wildcrafted botanicals. It also has a really tiny particle size, which is apparently one of the key reasons it penetrates the skin so well. I love the story of how the founder, April, created this product. She was pregnant and realized her skincare regimen contained tons of toxic, dangerous ingredients. So she tried safer alternatives, but just couldn’t find the results she wanted. So she set out on a two year process of creating the most luxurious, effective serum ever.
Anyway, I had heard so many wonderful things about this product, so I had to try! Amazing, amazing so far…
OMG, can’t wait to see Watson in these airplane longalls from Smockingbird Kids! They are size 12mo, so we’ve got a ways to go. He is still wearing 3-6mo in some brands like Janie & Jack—but wearing 6-9mo in other brands. He’ll be in these this winter or early spring though. He looks like he had a little growth spurt over the last few days!
Two new products from Graco that are really exciting! Both of the products below have something new called Soothe Surround Technology, a synchronized sound and vibration that’s designed to mimic the old favorite soothing techniques. Like a middle of the night car ride and a stroller ride—it has the sound and the vibration to match. Both of those put Watson to sleep instantly!
First, the Pack ‘n Play® Playard Newborn Napper® Oasis with Soothe Surround™ Technology. I know these playards are a little overwhelming—we have a couple of them for different purposes! But I really love how this one has everything all in one… the playard, the bassinet, the changing station (that works for up to 30lbs), the napper, and the storage tray on the side. This one will be so great for our back play room.
Next, the Oasis™ Swing featuring Soothe Surround™ Technology. We love baby swings around here, but it wasn’t always that way. I’ll share more on this soon I promise, but I honestly detested the thought of a big, clunky swing in our house before Watson got here. But I could just kiss his baby swing because it was the answer to our non-napping baby issues! And now that I’ve got this one, I’m really excited to put it in our play room with this playard since they match. The swing is so cute with little elephants—we’ve already got it set up. Another thing I love so far is that the seat is bigger than the one in our other swing. This one has a new design that maximizes the comfort and space in the seat area. And really, it’s not all that clunky and big like the ones I so detested! For a baby swing, this one is by far the best looking one I’ve found!
