So here’s the story. We would put Watson to bed and then rig the baby monitor screen in between the stove and the sink because it was our “sweet spot” for reception. Take that monitor into the living room with you and there was radio silence—literally. And I’m telling you, maybe it’s our imagination, but with every room we would paint in the house, I swear the reception would get worse!! I’m not kidding, it’s like each tiny layer of primer and paint would take away that much more of the monitor’s ability to reach from Watson’s room to where we hang out at night. Sheesh! At least we had that one spot in the kitchen and even though we couldn’t really see anything on the screen from the living room, at least we had a high volume control so that we could hear noises!

That’s why when I posted my baby registry guide, I didn’t share a specific baby monitor because I really didn’t have a recommendation. But by chance a couple days later, I heard from my friends at Levana and they asked if I would like to test out their new addition to the baby monitor family—the Willow™ 5” HD Touchscreen PTZ Video Baby Monitor

Um, YES.

^^ isn’t that little Christmas tree so cute? you can plant it outside after the holiday season and it grows up to 15ft tall! and I had a question about my rings—they are Brook & York (here and here). Save 10% off with code holycitychic10.

So today I’m going to share what I think about the monitor and I’ll also be sharing a giveaway so you can enter for a chance to win one! (Even if you don’t have babies yet, trust me, you’re going to want to enter and keep this thing on reserve. And I guess that just gave away the fact that I LOVE it.)

Here’s the scoop…

First, it’s touchscreen and the screen is nice and big at 5″. It feels just a bit bigger than the large iphone. The camera pans all around the room and tilts—you can adjust both of those things from the handheld monitor. The high-definition picture quality on it is GREAT. I can actually see my baby’s face! On our old one, all you could really see was a shadow. It’s got a great long-lasting battery on it (promises 12 hours) and tons of neat features, like a temperature gauge, lullabies, a clock and two-way communication, too. I also love that the actual camera itself is wireless. We keep it next to Watson’s crib on a table that is within arm’s reach, so knowing there is no risk of strangulation is a nice relief for us. The reception reaches 500ft, which is a huuuuuge upgrade for us because we can go out in the yard or in the total opposite room of the house—it still works great.

Another huge plus? It comes with TWO cameras. So if you have two little ones, put one in each of their rooms and monitor them both in the split view mode on the monitor. (You can add two more making it a total of 4 cameras.) I love this feature!

So can you tell I really really love it? I need to go back and update my baby registry guide. There are a lot more fancy features on this, too, but those are my favorites. You can read more about the monitor here if you want to. And here’s a cute video they did that you moms will appreciate!

It retails for $279 and is available for purchase here. I know that’s pretty pricey, but I honestly can tell you it’s worth it. We tried the cheaper route initially and it didn’t work out so well. To know we’ve got a “close eye” on Watson while he sleeps has allowed us to worry less when he’s in his crib and room all alone.

(Yes, that’s baby drool on my shirt in case you’re wondering! Watson has started giving us big wet kisses where he opens his mouth up real big and puts it over our noses. And drool just runs all down my face (and shirt apparently), but it’s the sweetest thing in the world!)

Enter for your chance to WIN one of these monitors!

I wish I could stop and enjoy the little moments more. My brain is always thinking ahead & I feel like I overlook the small, quiet moments with my little one.
