This J. Crew Bell Sleeve Dress has everything I love—it’s comfy, has fun embellished polka dots yet it’s simple at the same time, and it’s the perfect length and fabric. You know how some white dresses are either see through or so thick? This one is right in between so you don’t need a slip with it. (Praise hands!) I also love, love the short bell sleeves. They are really cute and very on trend right now. This dress will take me through summer and I know it’s going to be worn a ton since it’s so versatile. I’d wear it to dinner with wedges, to church with some low block heels like these, or out during the day like I wore it here with cute flats. These are the Valentino Rockstud Gladiator Sandals, but did you see this post where I linked some $30 knockoffs?
This tote may look like woven straw, but it’s actually leather! It’s by En Shalla and it’s so fun. I like the size of it. Big enough to take out for the day, but small enough to use for a summer dinner. Also, the leather dresses it up a bit. I’m sure it will just get better and better with age as the leather wears in.
Here’s a Charleston fact for you. This house I’m standing next to took 18 years to build! Construction started in 1852, but it wasn’t finished until 1870. It sits right next to a very simple Charleston home that was built in the 1700’s—one that was very standard to the style used during that time. It’s amazing how many architectural details were introduced within 100 years because this one pictured here is a million times more fancy and detailed. It is like night and day! Of course this house pictured here has had plenty of reconstruction throughout the years. It’s a showpiece. Wish I had a better picture of it to show you!
