life lately + charleston wine and food recap

Let’s start off with the Charleston Wine + Food photos. It was last weekend in Charleston and SO FUN. Most of these pictures are from the Culinary Village. This was my favorite part. It’s during the daytime (which is my favorite, I really love being out and about during the day vs. at night I’ve come to discover) in Marion Square. The whole area is full of tents with amazing wines, beer, cocktails, food, shopping, and fun. Oh, there was a RosĂ© Garten too. I already can’t wait for next year. Definitely going to bring Brandon along next year, too! He was home with Watson. 🙂

The wines I tried from Wölffer Estate were the best I put in my glass the whole day. Their 55-acre vineyard is in the Hamptons, as well as their winery. I’m telling you guys, this Summer in a Bottle RosĂ© is crisp and dry, but it still gives the perfect tiny hint of sweet. Refreshing—and it doesn’t hurt that the bottle is beautiful.

Saturday night I went to the What the Pho event. Chefs from all over the country created their very best version of asian noodles and I was a little bit in a pho-heaven. DJ Rehab was there and kept the party going even after it was supposed to end.

I started back on my Daily Harvest kick. The chocolate + blueberry is my favorite because it satisfies my 3pm sweet craving, gives me energy, and fills me up. It’s the perfect snack. Here’s why I especially like it. In this cup is organic blueberries, organic banana, raw almond, organic spinach, organic kale, dates, organic cacao, organic vanilla bean, pink himalayan sea salt, and organic maca. While trying to balance a busy baby and a busy work schedule, these smoothies have really come to the rescue because the chances of me going to buy all of those ingredients and pull each individual one out every day for a smoothie is slim to none. That’s just me being honest. This is easy, convenient, and healthy—and it tastes amazing. All you do is pull it out of the freezer, add in the liquid base of your choice (I do almond milk in this one.), and add to your blender (I use the nutri-bullet). Then just pour back in this cup, add a straw in the lid, and you’re good to go!

Exhibit A from my line above about having a busy baby. If I take my eyes off of him for more than 15 seconds, he crawls over to our indoor plants and puts the dirt in his mouth! I know this photo is so blurry and breaks good blogger rules, but I just love it. He’s so proud that he made it to the plant and got some dirt. It’s all over his face! Guess I need to wrap towels around the plants again. Sheesh!

    Where do you buy the Daily Harvest? It's brilliant for busy mamas. I've checked the grocery stores where I live… Then again, I live in middle of nowhere Texas! Lucky for me, my family and I are moving to Mt P in May. 🙂
