I can’t believe my sweet baby boy is almost a year old. I’m full of all of these crazy emotions. I find myself thinking back to where I was this time last year. Well, I was 37 weeks pregnant and we had just ripped out our entire kitchen to the studs and started a total renovation. We were so crazy!! Had I known I wouldn’t even have running water in the kitchen until Watson was 8 weeks old, I doubt I would have gone for it.
I get a little weepy when I think about those special feelings I was having. Even though our house was covered in a little layer of renovation dust, Watson’s nursery was simply perfect. I would go in there and smell his clothes, re-organize his dresser drawers time after time, and I’d hold up his sweet little day gowns and wonder what the baby wearing them would look like. Now I’ve had him here for almost a whole stinkin’ year and I still can’t believe he’s my child sometimes.
I’m going to share a few more baby related posts within the next few weeks leading up to his birthday on March 31st, but for today, I thought I’d share some baby favorites we’ve had over the last few months.
^^^ B. Toys Parum Pum Pum Music Set is one of Watson’s favorite things. With this, there’s so much to hold and so many noises to make. Not going to lie, I love playing with it too. It’s a must!
^^^ These Bright Starts Safari Beats Drums have been the biggest hit. He’ll hit one of the circles and when the music starts, he puts his arms out in front of him and rocks up and down to the beat. Then when it stops, he hits the button again and starts dancing more. It’s the CUTEST thing in the world to me!
^^^ For that stinky tushy, this Honest Bottom Wash has come in such handy. After a dirty diaper, this gives his bottom a really refreshing smell and takes away that poopy stench. (There, I said poop on my blog. I was trying to avoid it, but sometimes you just can’t.) Also, it has aloe in it to soothe that tender skin.
^^^ I guess there’s really nothing too spectacular about a sleep sack, but I had to get a larger size for Watson and ended up getting this HALO Cotton Wearable Blanket. I really love the lighter feel of the fabric and it’s sooo soft. It’s not too warm, but still keeps him nice and cozy. Perfect for spring.
^^^ We have read a book to Watson every night since he was born, but he’s just finally getting to a point where he wants to touch the book (or try to eat it), turn the pages, and he acts like he enjoys us reading to him now. So getting new books is something we really love.
Right before he was born, I signed up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Did you know that by signing up, your child is sent a free book every month until their 5th birthday? Yep, no catches. No paying shipping only. Nothing. Just a free, high quality book for your babe. All because ol’ Dolly wants children to have a love of reading at an early age. (Love you, Dolls.)
