I’m sure there are more top contenders out there amongst the streets of this city, but I’ve narrowed down my taste buds and picked my favorites. A lobster roll has to have a buttery bun that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The lobster mix can’t have too much mayo, but you know, it needs a decent amount to not just be all lemon-y. Without further chit chat, here are my two favorite lobster rolls in Charleston… one from 167 Raw and one from The Darling. These are restaurants that are completely worth a visit and if you don’t order these dishes, you’re missing out.
It’s not a big place, so expect a wait on a pretty day, but it’s worth it. Wait even longer for an outside seat, deal? This is one pretty exceptional lobster roll and it would have to be my #1 favorite I’ve ever had… ever. I think I could eat two. Or maybe more if anyone wants to challenge me. Pair yours with an ice cold glass of dry rosé and the housemade chips and pickles and you won’t be sorry.

This is one of my favorite places for any meal of the day—brunch, lunch, or dinner. We love grabbing a seat at the bar and eating there for the lively scene. The restaurant itself is beautiful, so that’s worth a visit to see all on it’s own—and it’s right in the heart of the restaurant/bar area of town, so it’s convenient if you want to hit a few other places afterwards. The menu is a little after my own heart—a blend of lowcountry seafood and comfort food. The lobster roll is pure deliciousness. It’s not just lobster, though, but king crab, too. Sweet talk your waiter and ask for a side of clam chowder to pour on the fries and you’ll be singing a happy tune.
