As soon as Brandon gets home every evening, we try to walk down on the dock to soak up the fresh, salty air. Watson loves being outside. He’s all boy, through and through! We stroll him down with his Red Rider Tricycle and he drags his toes in the gravel the whole time. He runs down the dock while we’re holding his hands and tries to jump in the water. Not kidding! If we didn’t guard him like a hawk and hold onto him with both hands at all times, he would run clear into the water without skipping a beat. I know he’s still learning boundaries, but even when we move him away from the edge of the dock, he cries to get closer and closer because he knows how badly he wants to be near the water!
Oh, this boy. I know he’s going to give me a run for my money. And maybe some premature gray hair, too.
Y’all know I typically dress Watson in smocked jon jons and sweet little rompers, but I’ve also recently found a few new brands at Nordstrom for babies and kids that I absolutely love. Perfect outfits for anything from play time to special occasions. That’s what I love about shopping there… the variety! It’s a one stop shop. I stocked up on a few t-shirts and shorts that are awesome for him to play in and be the wild boy he is comfortably, like this ombre shirt by Peek Essentials and these cutie little shorts by Tucker + Tate.
Have you ever tried Native shoes for your little ones? I learned about this brand from a friend and am so glad I did. They slip right on… and off apparently! Watson kicked one of his shoes right off his foot, but I did buy one entire size too big on purpose so that he would have plenty of room to grow into them. Even though one of the shoes went flying into the water, they float and are totally waterproof inside and out, so once we scooped it up, we were all good. These are the Native Jefferson Slip-On Sneakers.
I can’t believe how big he’s gotten.
Speaking of time passing, I’m 19 weeks along in this pregnancy! I can’t believe we are basically halfway there. Today we go in for our big anatomy ultrasound, so we’ve been praying for great results.
I’ve been feeling pretty great! Two weeks ago I came down with a terrible sickness and I was terrified that it was a delayed onset of morning sickness, but I think it was just a virus of some kind. I was sick the entire week and couldn’t do much at all. Once I got over that, I was golden. I’ve had great energy and have felt really good. I’m working hard to stay more fit this pregnancy than I did with Watson. I haven’t been going to the gym much (although still more than I did with W!) since we’ve been really busy with the move, but I’m constantly staying active.
Her nursery is currently just a holding area of all the things we don’t know where to put since we moved in a few weeks ago. I did buy a few of these adorable baskets and can’t wait for those to be in her room. Other than that, it’s a blank canvas! I’m excited to hit the drawing board and come up with the color scheme and design.
Still no name picked out, but we do have a top contender. Naming a child is so hard!! Especially when Watson has an incredibly family-focused name (Watson is my mom’s maiden name and his middle name, Stafford, is Brandon’s mom’s maiden name)… we feel like we need to put the same level of meaning into this baby’s name. I can’t wait to officially pick it out so that I can get to monogramming and calling her by name rather than, “Baby.”
Thank you to Nordstrom for partnering on this post.
