Sharing these awesome products in my first beauty gift guide of the year because these are ones I personally love! Find out why I think they’re so great by reading the details below.
Briogio Scalp Revival: This is a safe haircare brand and this particular product won an Allure Best of Beauty award, so I decided to put a bottle in my cart. It’s charcoal infused and is supposed to remove buildup (a must for me since I use dry shampoo at least every other day!) and detoxify + soothe the scalp.
Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette: I love the Tarte brand and think these colors look gorgeous. I love how these powders have everything you need for eyes and contour, all in one palette.
DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo: This stuff is the bomb.com. Yep, said it because it’s true. I was a loyal Batiste girl, but this stuff doesn’t come off as chalky on my hair and keeps it looking healthier and fresher for longer. Plus, even though it’s much more expensive than Batiste, I find that I only need a tiny bit of this and because of that, the bottles are lasting me way longer than Batiste ever did. And I can go an extra day in between washing my hair!
Sunday Riley Brightening Kit: I’ve been using each of the products inside this kit, along with my Beautycounter and GloSkin skincare routine, and I’ve seen a huge improvement in just a couple weeks. Sunday Riley products have a cult following and I love that they are free of harmful chemicals. What’s crazy is that I picked out these three products individually before the holiday gift sets launched—and now they are grouped together in one convenient value set! (You can save money buying this gift set vs buying the products individually.) But a little about it… I don’t know what makes it so amazing, but I’m guessing it’s the combination of lactic acid in the Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment, which clarifies, exfoliates, and brightens the skin. Then there’s the C.E.O. Rapid Flash Serum that has 15% Vitamin C, which is going to brighten dark spots and protect the skin from future damage. Finally, the Tidal Water Brightening Enzyme Cream is packed with skin-plumping and incredibly hydrating hyaluronic acid, as well as a product called alpha arbutin, which I’ve researched and found is like a “safe cousin” of hydroquinone, a dangerous skin lightener that is widely used.
How do I use these products in combination with Beautycounter and GloSkin? I cleanse with the Beautycounter Cream Cleanser, use the GloSkin skin mist I talked about here, then apply the GloSkin Brightening Serum I also showed you in that same post. Next, during the day I will go right to the Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash Serum, but at night I choose the Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment. During the day, I will then put on my Beautycounter Rejuvenating Day Cream followed by my GloSkin SPF. At night, I apply the Tidal Water Brightening Enzyme Cream mixed with some drops of my Beautycounter Facial Oil. Oh, and this eye cream.
Beautyblender Pro: Because it’s awesome.
St. Tropez Express Tanner: I rarely use a self-tanner, but for special occasions, this is my favorite. It doesn’t smell too bad at all and I love that you only have to leave it on for an hour. The longer you leave it on, the more the tan develops, but a lot of other tanners require you to leave it on for 8 hours before showering, which is annoying because the last thing I’m going to do is get in my bed with white sheets and a tan on. Before an event or if I just need some color, I’ll put on this Express Tanner an hour or two before showering and then I’m good to go.
Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask: I have been using a deluxe sample of this mask and love it. It leaves my skin feeling insanely refreshed and nourished.
Amika Bust Your Brass Shampoo and Conditioner: These are game changers if you have blonde highlighted hair. This is how I keep my hair an ashy blonde color. I use these two maybe once or twice a week and absolutely love the results. Afterwards, my hair is shiny, healthy-looking, and a bright cool blonde. Just be careful to not leave them on too long or else your hair will turn a purple-ish tone. (only temporary though!)
RMS Beauty Luminizer Set: RMS is a luxury organic brand that I’ve really fallen in love with. I honestly have little to no interest in any other highlight product after discovering this brand! Rose-Marie puts out the most beautiful highlighters that never look shimmery or off-putting like a lot of highlighters can when they settle into the lines and pores on your face. This is a great gift set that gives you a savings on three awesome products, including my favorite, the Living Luminizer.
REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask: I wonder how many of these I’ve bought over the years? Tons, even though one bottle lasts such a long time. If you’ve followed along for a while, I’ve talked about this mask for years. It’s a safer beauty brand and this mask truly makes an immediate difference in my skin. It brightens, tightens, clarifies, and just makes it look so much fresher. I guess I need to pick up my 100th bottle because I’m out again!
Dyson Blown-A-Ouai Set: Somebody please stop me before I give in to the hype. This set is a really great value considering it’s priced the same as just the dryer is normally. Ouai products are amazing, so I love that almost $100 worth of those are included. I’ve heard this dryer will absolutely cut your drying time by half and it’s super lightweight, making styling a lot easier. I’m so tempted!
Dior Forever Foundation: When not using my Beautycounter Tint Skin Foundation, this is my go-to. (Sometimes I like to switch it up depending on how my skin looks that day.) It has been a favorite for years and I love it, especially when applied lightly with a damp beauty blender. It’s great for a special event or if you want a daily foundation that is going to make your skin look airbrushed for a long time. It’s not heavy at all and doesn’t ever look cakey for me because of the way I apply it lightly. Sometimes I even mix it with my Beautycounter moisturizer if I need to run out the door quickly. I’ve tried no less than 100 foundations over the years and this one has remained my #1 favorite, other than the Beautycounter Tint Skin, which is my “safer” preference.
Nest Holiday Candle: I’m completely obsessed with these candles, so I stock up every year when I can get them on sale. After removing perfume and a lot of scented things from my life, I swear I can’t even burn a candle from Homegoods anymore because I begin to have a hard time breathing, get a headache, and start coughing. But the Nest candles burn so clean—I can totally tolerate them and they fill our whole house with the most amazing holiday scent you’ve ever smelled. (I actually burn them all year round because I love them so much.)
GHD Curve 1″ Classic Curl Iron: I just think it’s the best. It is so easy to control and gives me consistent waves that I love and last me for days. It makes my hair look shiny and healthy after using, which seems odd since heat essentially damages the hair. It’s worth every dollar—especially when you can get it on sale!
RMS Luminizer X Quad Palette: Another great RMS option. I use this quad every day… I sort of go to town with this thing as the final step in my makeup routine. I like to apply them with my beautyblender, but you really can just use your fingers. The shades are gorgeous and like I said about the RMS gift set above, they look so natural on the skin! Like you’ve been sunkissed on a tropical island and are just blessed with awesome, glowy skin.
LaVanilla “The Healthy Deodorant” in Vanilla Lavender: Using an aluminum-free deodorant is so important for our health—and this one is my favorite. The scent is awesome and subtle, plus it has won lots of awards for being an effective, 100% natural deodorant.
Here are even more picks that caught my eye! Some are products I’ve heard great reviews about and some are products I already use and love:
