I’ve been a little obsessed with grasscloth since we added this dresser to our guest room. I literally will walk into the room and run my hands along the top of it just to feel the beautiful texture! Bad news for Brandon, though, because I’ve been wanting to wallpaper a room in our house with grasscloth anyway, but this just totally sealed the deal.
This dresser was created by Bungalow 5, a furniture company based out of New York City. They actually specialize in finishing their pieces with unique materials and textures, just like the lacquered grasscloth you can see here on our Ming 4 Drawer Dresser.
I fell in love with this company after learning more about their process. (Of course their gorgeous pieces that somehow are the perfect blend of modern and classic didn’t hurt either.) They strive for perfection, which sometimes means they hold off on releasing new furniture to their collection until the pieces is just right. In fact, many of their designs have been in the making for nearly a decade.
I love how they focus on quality and how they’ve managed to bring together some of the most highly-skilled craftsmen from around the world to create each beautiful piece. Here’s a little glimpse into the construction of their pieces.
Their finishes are all hand applied. Some of the finishes they use are natural grasscloth, linen, papyrus, lacquer, gold leaf on metal pieces, and Blanc de Chine porcelain.
Here are some of the linen and grasscloth options! I want them ALL.
I love how the white pops in the photo below.
