If you caught my insta-stories today, then you already know the adventure Brandon and I went on to buy this antique secretary from an estate sale. Out of nowhere, it started pouring down rain and although we had blankets and other furniture moving “things,” we didn’t have a tarp or any sort of weather protection. Long story short and a side trip to Big Lots later, we had a tarp and we were ready to roll. Then of course Brandon had to wrap it up, load the piece, strap it in with bungee cords and other straps—all in his nice work clothes in a downpour. Oh and did I mention this was an hour away from home with two babies in the backseat? An adventure, for sure! But worth it. 🙂

My home style is always evolving, but one thing I’ve always loved is mixing old with new. Back in the winter and spring, I spent a lot of time on Pinterest while snuggling with Rosie and I became inspired by classic pieces, like the secretary I just added to our home. And even though it’s so different than everything else we own (the rest of our house has fresher, more coastal contemporary pieces), blending these two styles has turned out just the way I hoped—the perfect blend of old and new. I love the hydrangeas on the table, but once I replace those with some fresh cut palm fronds from the yard, it will be especially perfect for me.

I digress. Not here just to tell you that long story…

Today I wanted to share some home favorites with you! I’ve bookmarked these things recently and can’t help but keep thinking about them. Scroll through… there might be something you like too!

I’m always so inspired by your home decor! I had a picture of your living room in mind when we selected the paint color for our living room refresh — love the pale gray with silver accents and dark wood. I’m obsessed with that silver bamboo mirror you linked — need!!!
