I’m so excited to share Watson’s new room with you! This was such a fun project for me, but I treaded lightly with it because I didn’t want this space to look like a bedroom for a six, seven, or eight year old boy. My mama heart just wouldn’t be able to handle such a jump given that he’s only two! But we knew it was time for a change since his bedroom has looked like an unfinished nursery since we moved into our home last year.

We teamed up with Annie Selke to make over Watson’s room. You already know I’m a huge fan of the company and have quite a few Annie Selke rugs and bedroom linens throughout our home already. Having the chance to design a more grown up space for Watson in collaboration with a company I already love so much has been an amazing experience.

If you missed the progress update post I put up a few weeks ago, head over and check that out. It will show you where we began in designing this space for our boy!

The very first design element I picked out was this Emily Pale Blue Wallpaper. It is what wallpaper dreams are made of! I just think it made the room. I did question if it would be “too much” for the room and if I should only do an accent wall, but I’m a thousand percent happy we went for it and wallpapered the whole room. All of the Annie Selke wallpaper options are beautiful… I had a hard time picking my favorite!

The painting above is by Caroline Boykin. Watson has always had a lot of stuffed bunnies in his room, so I thought this piece would be perfect for his “big boy” space. I had it framed by Framebridge, which is my go-to for quality framing. The whole process is done in the most seamless of ways. There are tons of frames available online… once you pick your favorite, you just upload your photo or mail in your artwork using the envelope or tube Framebridge sends you at no extra charge. Then, before you know it, they mail your framed piece back to you! Easy peasy.

Funny story, I actually had this bed in college and then Brandon and I slept in it until we got married and used our wedding money to buy a king sized bed! (This one is a full size.) We added a Tulo mattress from Mattress Firm, painted it this smoky blue color, and then added these fresh, cozy linens from Annie Selke.

My favorite part is this Quinn French Blue Cotton Blanket that we have spread across the bed. It’s incredibly soft and the colors in it are beautiful.  Having the down comforter and the Classic Hemstitch Duvet at the foot of the bed is perfect because we can pull it up over Watson for extra warmth. The bedskirt and standard shams are both from Annie Selke’s Petit Trellis Matelassé collection. Finally, I chose white Classic Hemstitch sheets. They feel AMAZING!

The artwork in the gold frame you see above is actually a portrait of Watson done by Courtney Mohler. It’s very dear to us. Also had that one framed with Framebridge!

The Dr. Seuss books below were Brandon’s when he was a little boy…

This white pouf is actually indoor/outdoor! It is perfect for Watson to jump on with a toy or to look at a book. It’s dense in that when you sit on it, it doesn’t sink down to the floor like a big pillow. I love that it’s sturdy and actually works as seating! Across the top is this sweet little throw blanket.

This side table below belonged to my great great grandmother. I love that we were able to use it in his room!

I’ve come to realize that Annie Selke’s Indoor/Outdoor rugs are the perfect option for kids! They are soft underfoot but clean up so easily. This one is the C3 Herringbone Indoor/Outdoor Rug in Linen.

You know my favorite thing about Watson’s big boy room? A bed that we can all lay on! It makes cuddling up to read books so much easier than laying on the floor by his crib.

Love these two.

Oh! Before I go, I should show you a little peek into his bathroom, too…

We picked out these Annie Selke Signature White/French Blue Banded towels. Is it wrong to be jealous of your two year old son’s bath linens? These feel amazing and I love the pop of color on them. They coordinate perfectly with this Trio French Blue Shower Curtain.

^^^Rug Pad: As with any rug, I’d definitely recommend a rug pad underneath. Since we are using this one over carpet, we have the Rug Pad USA Carpet Lock rug pad on the way! Their pads are incredibly nice and never ever ruin the floor underneath. I never thought a rug pad could make such a difference before being introduced to this company.
