If you kept up over insta-stories last weekend, then you already know we went to McCormick, SC over Memorial Day Weekend for some time with family. It was really beautiful there! South Carolina is a really neat state because you can go from the flat sandy coastline and beaches, to big mountains, to lakes surrounded by pine trees and red clay all within a few hours in distance.
Packing for the lake was really simple. A sun hat, a couple bathing suits and coverups, some sandals, and my Sperry Boat Shoes were really all I needed. I’ve been working so hard on packing lighter. I actually fit everything I needed in this one bag, which I’m pretty sure was a first for me!
I’ve had a long love affair with the Sperry Authentic Original Boat Shoe, from wearing them in grade school with my school uniform to owning them now for a wherever our life takes us—out in the boat, walking around the neighborhood, or even on a road trip like this one. I know they will be fine around water or on land, so they really are a great classic shoe that will work for any landscape.
During our trip, we stayed at Hickory Knob State Park and Resort, which is where Brandon’s family has been going for 32 years now. It’s a no frills kind of place—more like camping, but in a cabin, but this scenery was pretty magical. I love places like that though. Reminds me of the kinds of trips we took growing up.
Here are some other shoes I love by Sperry!
Thank you to Sperry for partnering on this post.
