life lately

My cute boy! Just in case you were wondering what our view was from where we were sitting in the photo above… This is Morgan Creek Grill. Such a great place to go on a beautiful day like this was! Speaking of good weather. Windows open, radio on all the time. Or, ya know, Pandora. Speaking of, what are some good Pandora stations?? I love mixes that make you feel good and are upbeat! This may be the most random thing to blog about, but I did something for the very first time… I got my legs waxed! Ah, I was so nervous but it really was not that bad. Now that it has been a few weeks and I’ve…

middleton place

Have you ever heard of it—or better yet, been there? Middleton Place a National Historic Landmark and home to America’s oldest landscaped gardens. 65 acres worth of gardens, if you want to picture how big and beautiful this place is. It’s here in Charleston, so add it to your list when you come to visit! It was so humid that morning and we took turns holding Watson so much that my shirt got SO wrinkled!! Just excuse that please. 🙂 In this picture above—the bank right here by the river, that’s where Watson took his FIRST steps!! He took about five towards me and it was perfect. We tried to get him to do it again for a picture, but he…

what i wore: beckett boutique

I recently spent the morning with the girls at Beckett Boutique, one of my absolute favorite places to shop in Charleston. Even if you’re not in a spendy kind of mood, just walking around their  beautiful store will give you so much inspiration. The whitewashed floors, the gorgeous light fixtures and clothing displays, and not to mention the new and now styles they’ve curated. It’s all just really really good. We shot six different looks that morning. It was so gorgeous in Charleston—I could have shot 20 looks with them because it was so fun being outside and trying on their beautiful clothes. I also answered a Q&A with them, which they shared along with the looks on their blog! So head over…

the best white dress + fun charleston fact

This J. Crew Bell Sleeve Dress has everything I love—it’s comfy, has fun embellished polka dots yet it’s simple at the same time, and it’s the perfect length and fabric. You know how some white dresses are either see through or so thick? This one is right in between so you don’t need a slip with it. (Praise hands!) I also love, love the short bell sleeves. They are really cute and very on trend right now. This dress will take me through summer and I know it’s going to be worn a ton since it’s so versatile. I’d wear it to dinner with wedges, to church with some low block heels like these, or out during the day like…

sundays at celadon

Hey guys! Got a PSA for all of you Charleston peeps.  Starting this Sunday March 5th, Celadon (one of my favorite favorite stores!), will have their warehouse open every single Sunday from 10am – 1pm! The warehouse is different than their retail store in Mount Pleasant because it’s a giant building full of bigger pieces of furniture. It also has a huge “outlet” section in the front that has heavily marked down items. This month also kicks off the Celadon FLEA, which will be happening at the warehouse on the last Sunday of every month, beginning on March 26th. The difference on these flea Sundays is that there are 40+ local vendors, live music, a jump castle for kids, face painters, and…

harrison’s doors

Happy Tuesday! I want to introduce you all to a local Charleston artist, Harrison Blackford. She’s releasing a new RESORT collection of doors today at 12pm est, so it’s a perfect time for you to meet her if you haven’t already. I discovered Harrison’s doors around Christmas when her “southern doors” collection was released.  I mean, I fell in love in an instant. I just have a thing about doors in general, so seeing them in her beautiful abstract/impressionist style of painting really speaks to me.  The artwork I had my eye on at Christmas sold, but I’m kinda sorta thinking it was meant to be, because when I heard about her resort collection, I just knew it was perfect…

shopping and styling at Lyndon Leigh and Candelabra

One of my favorite things to share on this blog are businesses local to Charleston. We’re really not a big shopping city, but there are some major gems here and there throughout town. Two of which are Candelabra and their sister store, Lyndon Leigh. Do you remember when I added a few pieces from these stores in our last house? (here and here!) The greatest thing is that you can shop Candelabra and Lyndon Leigh online—they share a website! We went to both stores to do a little shopping around. They’re both in Mount Pleasant not far away from each other at all. We’ve been on the hunt for a few things for our formal living room. I was also…

scenes around the store: celadon

Did some shopping at my favorite place, Celadon, while on the hunt for the perfect dining room table. Snapped a few pictures along the way of pieces that caught my eye and thought it would be fun to share them! Literally 95% of the photos on my phone are either of things I see and like while out shopping or of Watson. These first pictures are in their retail store in Mount Pleasant. Napkins and dish cloths in the cutest prints. Brandon and I really fell in love with this counter-height table below. I kept thinking what an awesome island it would be in a kitchen that doesn’t have a ton of space! Wish we had a spot for it. It’s…
